Blogger Collab + Cute Athleisure Looks

Hello friends!

It’s been awhile since my last blogger post and a lot has happened!

I have been busy wedding planning because… Travis and I are engaged!!! We are so excited. After lots of venue shopping, we now have a date and venue chosen. I also had an amazing trip to Ireland – look for a post on that soon!

More recently, I met a new friend and Minneapolis blogger and teamed up for a fun collaboration!

Andrea is the cutie behind the Nere Blog focusing on fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Oddly enough, when I started blogging I envisioned myself hiding behind a computer creating posts but it turns out, one of my favorite things about blogging is getting involved in the community and meeting other bloggers, foodies and fitness lovers! Andrea and I met at Urban Bean and chatted over lattes about all kinds of things – being engaged, wedding planning, health, blogging and so our collaboration was born!

Minneapolis Blogger Collaboration on Athleisure and Working out

Minneapolis Blogger Collaboration on Athleisure and Working out

We both enjoy working out, fashion and supporting local businesses. So we put together some athletic wear pieces from local stores here in Minneapolis. These are pieces that are great for both working out, but also can transition into the rest of your day as athleisure outfits as well.

My favorite way to start the weekend is to go to a Saturday morning class and then go to the farmer’s market (with a pit stop for a latte of course).  I use Class Pass, which I love because it allows me to get a variety of workouts and try all the fun studios in Minneapolis! Some of my favorites: Alchemy, The Barre and The Firm – all kick-butt workouts! Since I go right from working out to other activities, I need to be wearing something that can keep up. The fabric needs to wick away sweat, be functional for the workout but also transition to the rest of the day (and be cute of course!) I basically LIVE in athleisure style clothing. It’s so comfortable and cute!

Zuma Blu is a newly launched brand that creates athletic clothing with the goal of looking good and feeling good. Bonus: they support bully-prevention in school programs by donating 10% of their profits! I love their prints, especially this subtle camo and the small details that add to this top. I am wearing an x-small and it fits true to size. The material is great for a kick your butt type of sweaty workout. The small zipper pocket on the back makes it great for a run outside too.

Lole is actually a Canadian company with stores all over the country, but Minneapolis has the only one in the area. Their approach is simple, modern and functional. The store is on Washington Ave in the North Loop right next to Dunn Bros. The boutique is super cute and the girls were so friendly and helpful. I found this white top on sale and I can’t wait to wear it to my spin class!

TNP’s Top 3 Bloody Mary’s in Minneapolis

One of our favorite meals to go out to eat for is brunch. Brunch is such a cool meal because you can get creative with it! Two meals into one gives you so many options. And what’s the most creative drink on a brunch menu?

The bloody mary.

Top 3 reasons we love a bloody mary:

#1 The perfect combination of spices in a bloody mary mix is just delightful.

#2 It’s healthy…I mean it is basically vegetable juice (shhh just let me get away with this one).

#3 and the most important…THE SKEWER. Who doesn’t love munchies on a stick while you wait for your meal?

This post is all about our favorite bloody mary’s in Minneapolis. While the tomato juice mix is important, we feel like it’s kinda hard to mess that up. So we based our choices on a combination of the juice mix and the skewer, with a little more emphasis on how cool the skewer is. That’s the fun part after all! And we’re all about having fun on a Saturday morning brunch.

#3 Bryant Lake Bowl

This bloody mary is probably my favorite as far as the mix itself. It’s the perfect amount of spice (I don’t like too spicy), but it’s definitely not mild. The skewer is pretty standard: pickle, olives, a couple of pepperjack cheese cubes, lemon and lime. This is a classic. And going to Bryant Lake Bowl is an experience! The best spot is belly up to the bar so you can chat with the bartenders. Brunch food is awesome here, one of my favorites and don’t forget the bowling! Old school vintage bowling lanes are so cool and something different to do.

#2 Hen House Eatery

That skewer! You almost don’t even need to order brunch. The skewer could be a meal by itself! This bloody is the spiciest of the three. They use sriracha vodka for an extra kick. For me, it was a little too spicy but Trav was lovin’ it! Let’s talk about the skewer: pepper jack cheese cubes, salami, celery and a whole hard boiled egg! Seriously, I was basically full before our food got there. But of course my chilaquiles were too good to go to waste :)

#1 The Copper Hen

Ok. Everything about this place is just adorable. A little rustic farm style cafe/restaurant with all kinds of tasty treats. Brunch here is also awesome. More on that later… This bloody mary wins the #1 spot mainly because, one word: CUPCAKE! Come on. Are you in love already? This bloody mary skewer comes with a blueberry breakfast cupcake! I’ve never met a bloody mary that comes with a sweet treat before but I’m so glad we did. Besides this adorable little cupcake it comes with bacon…so you get the best of both worlds if you ask me. They use Prairie Vodka, which I love because it’s organic and is made in Minnesota, and a housemade bloody mary mix. Their brunch food I could go on to talk about for quite a while but one highlight: the farmhouse BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato). You gotta try it!
